Strength in the Storm
Cissy, a 28-year-old mother of two—Patience and Aaron—has faced more hardship than most can imagine. Married for seven years, she and her husband survive on casual work that barely covers food and rent.
Their struggle intensified when Patience, at only three months old, was diagnosed with hydrocephalus, requiring continuous medical care. Most of their income goes toward treatment, leaving the family in constant financial distress.
Cissy herself grew up without stability. After escaping an abusive home at age four, she moved between nine different households. She worked in gardens and homes to afford school supplies, but her education ended abruptly when her guardian fell ill. At 16, she dropped out completely.
Marriage seemed like a new beginning—but life continued to be hard. Still, Cissy remains courageous and determined.
During our visit, she shared her dream of starting a sustainable business to support her family. Through the Women’s Impact Fund, she has begun a piggery project—an opportunity with long-term potential to transform her household.
But her challenges are far from over.
Patience continues to need medical care
Aaron has been diagnosed with severe anemia
The family has spent long periods in the hospital
Despite everything, Cissy’s faith remains strong. She thanks God for every step forward, no matter how small.
We continue to stand with her—providing support, prayer, and encouragement as she works toward a brighter future for her children.
Please continue praying for:
Full healing for Patience and Aaron
Strength and provision for Cissy
Growth and sustainability in her new piggery project
Her story is a powerful reminder: even in the darkest storms, hope can rise.
